Here is a quick look at some of the notable comings and goings for airlines in the Australia/New Zealand region between the last update in March and now.

Air New Zealand have reduced their Boeing 737 fleet to just two frames, with two more leaving the fleet.

The next wave of Virgin Australia deliveries have been registered but are yet to be delivered, interestingly they have returned to the YF* rego block after receiving deliveries in the YI* block, suggesting these will be domestic aircraft.

'New' QF B717s & return to CBR

Qantas have announced that the 5 'new' Boeing 717 aircraft to enter their QantasLink fleet, operated by Cobham Aviation, will have Business class and will operate on Canberra routes to and from Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne.

"QantasLink will introduce a full Business experience on these aircraft, including market-leading seats, premium food and drinks and exceptional onboard service," Mr Gissing said.

The 'new' aircraft are expected to enter service from late 2013 once the new interiors are fitted. The new flights from Canberra will mark the return of the B717 to Sydney & Melbourne skies, after having previous been seen there in Impulse then Jetstar colours.

Cobham operate the current fleet of 13 aircraft in QantasLink colours in predominantly Western Australia supporting the mining industry, but also operate some regional routes out of Brisbane (as seen below)

Cobham/QantasLink call sign/code change

QantasLink's regional partner Cobham aviation have had a small update to their call signs.  Cobham operate B717 and BAe 146/RJ100 aircraft on behalf of QantasLink in regional areas of Western Australia and Queensland in support of the mining boom, on both FIFO and RPT services.

Up until yesterday these aircraft have flown with their regos as their call sign, as have the BAe 146F's operated by AAE.

From today the Cobham B717 fleet will fly under the Q-Jet call sign/QJE code while the 146 fleet will fly using the JetEX call sign and JTE code, it is as yet unconfirmed if the AAE 146's will also gain a code or not.
