Virgin Blue & Air New Zealnd in talks

The biggest news story of the year so far, in regards to trans tasman services is the proposed link up of Air New Zealand and Virgin Blue.

Virgin Blue and Air New Zealand have confirmed to the Australian Securities Exchange that they have been in talks over a potential trans-Tasman alliance.

Virgin Blue and Air New Zealand have announced details of their planned revenue sharing trans-Tasman alliance proposal, first revealed to the ASX last week, confirming it will be a non-equity arrangement.

Jetstar procedural changes

As a result of an issue with a CHC-MEL flight in 2007, Jetstar have made some procedural changes.

Jetstar says that a serious incident at Melbourne Airport in 2007 which was initially not reported to the ATSB has seen it change its procedures for handling go-arounds and training of its A320 crews.

Jetstars passenger numbers

A little bit late with this post but Jetstar have celebrated their 1 millionth domestic passenger in NZ.

Jetstar has carried its one millionth domestic New Zealand passenger since it replaced Qantas’s domestic New Zealand services in June 2009.
