Jetstar currently operate 6 A320s with 3 operating the domestic routes between Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, and the other 3 operating trans-tasman routes, 2 out of Christchurch and 1 out of Auckland.
The report sourced from the CourierMail website and featured in all news limited publications and websites across australia is unfortunately rife with errors.
- The picture shown is of a Jetstar A332 not an A320
- They describe Pacific Blue as operating two aircraft in New Zealand while trans-tasman services are operated by other australian based aircraft. Clearly Pacific Blue operates its trans tasman services with its New Zealand fleet of aircraft.
- They say Jetstar has carried four million passengers on internal routes but as reported in an Earlier Post, in April they were celebrating their 1 millionth domestic passenger, so I doubt they've carried 3 million passengers in the last 2 months
