Sounds Air

One of the benefits of the holiday period in the Marlborough Sounds, is seeing the Sounds Air Cessna Caravan fleet flying low over the sounds, on their WLG-PIC-WLG runs.

Below is an example of the photo opportunities possible during this time. The caravan used on the two separate days was C208B Grand Caravan ZK-SAA

Tuesday 06-Jan-09
The morning started well and showed great promise then fizzled out. Arriving within 10 minutes of each other at Woodbourne were RNZAF B200 King Air's NZ1881 & NZ1882.

The only other movement noted was Sounds Air Cessna U206G ZK-ENT operating from the Picton home base to the Omaka maintenance base.

Pacific Blue Update
Pacific Blue are currently using Virgin Blue Boeing 737-8FE VH-VOX in their operations. VOX is covering for ZK-PBF which is believed to be undergoing maintenance in Christchurch. VOX positioned into Christchurch on Sunday 04-Jan-2009 from Brisbane as DJ9096.

NZ971 HLZ-BNE operated by ZK-OJA diverted to AKL for an hour before continuing on to Brisbane.

Monday 05-Jan-2009
NZ995/966/967/992 HLZ-SYD-DUD-SYD-HLZ operated by ZK-OJG made the first two legs HLZ-SYD-DUD with the return legs cancelled.

OJG then poitioned DUD-AKL as NZ6038 this morning 06-Jan-2009.

ZK-OJI positioned AKL-HLZ to operated todays NZ971/962/963/804 HLZ-BNE-DUD-BNE-CHC

Arriving late afternoon/early evening into Woodbourne was French Army Casa 235 "105" 52-IG. This movement was part of a larger flight, arriving from Ohakea and departing to Wellington. The full routing was Noumea-Whenuapai-Ohakea-Woodbourne-Wellington. The Casa then flew Wellington-Whenuapai-Noumea the following day 28-Dec-2008

31-Dec-2008
Airwork/Airpost Boeing 737-219QC ZK-NQC arrived into Woodbourne from Auckland. NQC was noted on 02-Jan-2009 parked behind the skyhawk pen between #4 & #5 hangers at Woodbourne. It is believed that it is at Woodbourne for Safe Air to either undertake repainting or more maintenacnce work.

Arriving from parts north, believed to be Ohakea mid morning was RNZAF Boeing 757-2K2 NZ7571. It later departed heading south presumably to Christchurch.
