Yesterday Virgin Australia announced the changes to their frequent flyer rewards scheme Velocity, which was flagged earlier in the year.

I received the following email from them informing me of the changes

• New Velocity Platinum Frequent Flyer Level
• Status matching for other airline FF members
• Family benefits
• Earn and Redeem on partner flights around the world
• Redeem points for any seat on any flight on any airline
